The café’s 16 cats do not share one origin story. The family includes Thai Wichien Maat, Bengal cats, adopted cats and cats who arrived through rescue or rehoming. Their individual histories matter because “café cat” describes where they live now, not what they lived through before.
Different roads to the same home
Lucy was abandoned on the streets of Pattaya before being rescued. Charlie came from Rayong after an uncertain beginning. Siam was found close to a busy road and taken to safety by a veterinary clinic. Feli was abandoned when she was only a few weeks old and still carries a small scar on her back.
Mia and Pho arrived together after a salon owner helped rescue and rehome them. Cleo needed another home because her previous owner had more cats than they could care for. Comet recovered after an accident. These are not interchangeable mascots; each cat has a name, temperament and past.
Not every cat was rescued in the same way
Some members were adopted or responsibly rehomed, while Mira and Nina were born into the café family. Saying this clearly is more honest than putting every animal under one dramatic label. What they share now is a home where rest, safety and individual choice come before entertaining visitors.
How to meet them well
- Wait for a cat to approach instead of following it.
- Do not wake sleeping cats or use flash.
- Accept that some cats may be resting away from guests.
- Read a cat’s story before your visit so the name means more than a photograph.
A visit supports the wider work
The café states that part of its income supports animal rescue and medical care in Thailand. Ordering a meal or drink therefore helps the café care for its animal family while contributing to work beyond the room.
