How to Get to IKEA Bangna: BTS Shuttle, Parking and Opening Hours
If you searched “IKEA Bangna how to get there,” the useful answer depends on what the rest of your day looks like. Driving is usually the simpler option for a large shop, a stroller or a second stop around Mega Bangna. If you are coming by train, IKEA publishes a free shuttle connection from BTS Udom Suk. Either way, check the live route before leaving: “Bangna” covers a wide area and IKEA Bangna is not the same destination as every entrance at Mega Bangna.
This is a route and planning guide, not a verdict on which IKEA is “the best in Bangkok”. It combines the official store information with the way our family planned a visit: showroom, lunch, a children’s activity and a possible cinema stop.

The short answer before you leave
Driving to IKEA Bangna
Driving makes sense when you expect to buy furniture, have young children or want to continue around Bangna and Samut Prakan. Put the exact store into your map rather than searching only for “Bangna”. Before you set off, look at both the arrival route and the route out; traffic can make the same road feel very different later in the day.
What to check about parking
At the time of our check, the official IKEA Bangna page listed:
- free parking for the first six hours;
- free parking for the first eight hours with a receipt of at least 500 THB;
- free parking for the first twelve hours with a receipt of at least 3,000 THB; and
- parking hours shown as 06:00–22:00.
Treat those as date-sensitive operating information, not a permanent promise. Save receipts until you leave and allow extra time if your plan includes shopping, lunch, HarborLand and a movie. The free parking at IKEA or the mall is separate from the parking at Siamese Cat Café. If the café is your next stop, use its own map pin; it is outside the shopping centre and has its own free parking area.
Taking the BTS and free shuttle bus
IKEA’s English and Thai store pages describe a free shuttle between BTS Udom Suk, Exit 5, and IKEA-Mega Bangna. The departure or arrival time can change with traffic, so an old social-media timetable is not a safe basis for a tightly timed family schedule.
Use this simple sequence:
- Check the current shuttle notice on IKEA’s store page.
- Travel to BTS Udom Suk and follow the signs for Exit 5.
- Allow time to find the pickup point and wait for the bus.
- Check the return pickup point at IKEA before you begin shopping.
The shuttle can be easier than several transfers when you have children or bags, but it is still a road journey. If you have a timed booking at another venue, keep a taxi or ride-hailing option as a backup.

The restaurant photograph is from our visit. Check current menu and hours directly before travelling.
Store, restaurant and children’s-area hours are not automatically the same
Do not save one opening time and apply it to every part of the store. IKEA presents information for the store, restaurant, café and Småland separately. If the purpose of your trip is shopping, check the store hours. If lunch is the anchor, check the restaurant. If you plan to use Småland, confirm its own admission rules and schedule.
The practical lesson is small but useful: a store can be open while a particular service starts later or closes earlier. Verify the part of IKEA you actually need.
Plan food before everyone gets hungry
On our family day, we walked through the showroom and then ate at the IKEA restaurant. We had pasta with meatballs, sausage, spring rolls and soup; the meatballs were the children’s favourite. Eating before the next activity meant we did not have to move the group to another restaurant while everyone was already tired.

This shows what our family chose that day, not a current menu or price guarantee.
If anyone has an allergy or dietary restriction, ask the restaurant about ingredients and current options. Do not build today’s budget from an old menu photograph or receipt.
If IKEA is the first stop in a Mega Bangna day
Shopping at IKEA, eating lunch, playing at HarborLand and checking an IMAX screening are separate decisions. Our Mega Bangna family day with kids explains the wider story, while this page stays focused on reaching IKEA and making the first stop work.
Our actual sequence looked roughly like this:
The film did not fit our timing, so we did not force it. If the children are running out of energy, IKEA and lunch may be enough. If you finish early, you can check the cat café near Mega Bangna guide as a separate nearby option. Siamese Cat Café is not inside the mall, so open its map and current information before leaving Mega Bangna.
IKEA Bangna departure checklist
- Search for IKEA Bangna, not only “Bangna”.
- Check the live driving route and parking terms.
- If using BTS, confirm the Udom Suk Exit 5 shuttle information.
- Check store, restaurant and children’s-area hours separately.
- Keep receipts until you leave the parking area.
- Leave a buffer for food, toilets and walking between venues.
- Check HarborLand and cinema rules on their official pages if they are part of the same day.
